Kaya FC-Iloilo’s Head Coach leaves the club ahead of their AFC Cup Preparation

After three years with Kaya FC-Iloilo, Head coach Noel Marcaida said his goodbyes ahead of his club’s preparation for the upcoming 2020 season.

“I would like to thank Kaya FC Iloilo for the opportunities accorded to me these last 3 years, during which I have learned a great deal and grown as a person and coach.”

As the club kicked off their preparations for the upcoming season which will start with the AFC Cup on the 12th of February, their master tactician has given his farewell message through his social media account.

Since his arrival at the club, he filled in the position left by Chris Greatwich and gave the club quite a number of success.

He steered the club to its first major trophy three years after their UFL Cup victory when they won the inaugural Copa Paulino Alcantara against Davao Aguilas and secured a slot in the AFC Cup.

He also guided the club to its second successive appearance in the continent’s own version of the Europa League after finishing second in the league and the cup last season.

Along with his departure, Kaya FC-Iloilo also bid goodbye to their resident goalkeeping coach Ref Cuaresma.

The 2017 Sons of Mighty Kaya (also known as Ultras Kaya) Player of the Year served as the clubs custodian for two years before focusing on honing the club’s prized keepers Ace Villanueva and Zach Banson.

The club has yet to confirm their replacements as their preparations for the AFC Cup and the upcoming 2020 season of the Philippines Football League come in full swing.
